200 yr old renovated stone character town house ideally situated along the banks of the River Rance overlooking the pretty harbour, and minutes walk away from some of the best restaurants, creperies and bars in the town. Walk, cycle, canoe, sail along the river enjoying the scenery and the tranquil surroundings; explore nearby churches and an old ruined abbey; enjoy a glass of the local cider whilst watching the activity in the harbour from the balcony; or take a walk into Dinan town. A 10-minute walk up the amazing cobbled street of Le Rue De Petit Fort takes you into the heart of the historic fortified medieval market town – one of the most beautiful towns in Brittany. Lose yourself in the maze of cobbled streets and discover restaurants offering international cuisine, local artisan craft shops and specialist boutiques; wonder at the centuries old leaning timber framed buildings; or explore the old ramparts and grounds of the old chateau, stopping to enjoy the views over the harbour. Visit the bustling Thursday market to sample local produce and take home a souvenir from one of the local artisan’s stalls


Time your stay to coincide with one of the many traditional Breton festivals, including music, oysters, tall ships and medieval celebrations. Or visit some of the many local attractions including heated outdoor pool (15 minute walk along the river), horse-riding, golf, the aquarium outside St Malo, the walled city of St Malo, try the many local water sports from the nearby beaches, or venture further afield and visit the beautiful rugged coastline of Brittany – the Emerald and Pink Granite coasts – for miles and miles of deserted sandy beaches, clifftop walks, and seaside towns; or head inland to explore the myths and legends of Breton folklore, visit the local parishes, or walk a trail around some of the stone megaliths. Brittany itself is an all year round destination – many of the activities can be enjoyed in all weathers with the changing seasons offering a different perspective and experience on each visit
About our property
The house itself is a converted town house, occupying the ground and first floor and providing a high standard of accommodation. Sleeping 4-6, the accommodation is comprised of a comfortable lounge with TV / DVD and local TV channles, a sofa and a double futon; a large family kitchen / diner with 6 seater farmhouse table; original wooden spiral staircase leading to a sunny sitting room with French doors looking over the river; 2 light and airy bedrooms also over-looking the river (1 x double, 1 x single) and a modern shower room.
The house is easily accessible from a country road leading off the main road into Dinan, which is located 20 minutes from the St Malo ferry port, 2 hours from Cherbourg / Caen, or if you prefer to fly only 15 minutes from Dinard and 45 minutes from Rennes.
The house is not suitable for people with restricted mobility and pets are not permitted. Smoking is not permitted indoors.

 

Getting there

Ryanair operate discounted flights to Dinard. By train, there are many TGV services from Paris, and Eurostar from Waterloo to Paris. By road, the port of St Malo is the most convenient for this region.
